Xamk Joins FAME Ecosystem

Xamk – South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences has officially joined the FAME Ecosystem, further enhancing Finland’s research, development, and innovation (RDI) landscape in advanced manufacturing.

“Xamk has been developing 3D-printing technologies and material applications in co-operation with the industry since 2019. The new, large 3D-printer for research and piloting purposes supplements in a remarkable way the Finnish RDI-platform. Also, development and testing of bio-circular based polymeric materials for sustainable and high-quality 3D-printing solutions is important for Xamk in the sector,” says Lasse Pulkkinen, Research Director at Xamk.

The addition of Xamk to the FAME Ecosystem significantly bolsters the network’s reach and expertise, reinforcing the collaboration between academia and industry.

“We are excited to have Xamk join our ecosystem and bring their expertise to the research groups within FAME. With this new partnership, we now cover most of the Finnish higher education organizations focusing on AM, ensuring that the latest knowledge is thoroughly exchanged between industry and research,” says Sini Metsä-Kortelainen, Head of Ecosystems.
