A big thank you to everyone who joined the FAME Symposium 2025! Your energy, ideas, and presence made the event truly special.
This year’s symposium brought together over 70 participants from across the FAME ecosystem and beyond: industry experts, researchers, startups, and public sector representatives. Together, we shared knowledge, explored new ideas, and strengthened collaboration in additive manufacturing and materials, in Finland and abroad.
Here’s what we did:
Engaging Presentations: Over two days, we heard from inspiring speakers who shared their expertise on industrial innovation and sustainability, digital solutions, multi material printing, future applications and more.
Design Challenge: FAME Design Challenge brought fresh ideas to life. Student teams tackled real industry problems and competed for the win. The winners of the very first FAME Design Challenge competition were Eero Virtanen and Aleksi Kytöviita from University of Turku, awarded by the design challenge committee.
Networking Opportunities: Multiple breaks, coffee chats, and our evening dinner gave everyone time to meet, connect, and spark new conversations and collaborations.
Feedback was gathered through our post-event survey, and we’re already using your ideas to shape future events.
Dr. Francesco Trevisan, Additive Manufacturing Senior Expert at Wärtsilä and part of the symposium organising committee, says, “It has been marvellous to see such enthusiasm and willingness to network and cooperate within the FAME symposium. This event successfully sparked innovative ideas and fostered strong collaboration between Finnish and international partners. Its goal was to energize the Additive Manufacturing industry and advance research on a national level, and it has undoubtedly set a solid foundation for future advancements in this field. I am definitively looking forward for the future editions of this event!”
We’re already looking forward to FAME Symposium 2026! Next year’s event will continue to grow as a platform where ecosystem members can learn, co-create, and lead the future of additive manufacturing.
