Tampere University has joined the Finnish Additive Manufacturing Ecosystem (FAME), enhancing its role in the field of additive manufacturing. With a strong background in innovative manufacturing technologies, the university is poised to bring significant value to the FAME community.
“By joining the FAME ecosystem, Tampere University will gain greater visibility for its developments. We aim to support knowledge and competence development within Finnish industry and society with our state-of-the-art competences and technologies,” says Eric Coatanéa, Professor of Manufacturing Engineering and Systems Engineering at Tampere University.
“Tampere University is playing a crucial role in advancing additive manufacturing, particularly in the areas of modeling, simulation, and process control, with a specialized focus on Directed Energy Deposition. By joining the FAME, Tampere University strengthens this innovative ecosystem that bridges the gap between cutting-edge research and industry application. We are excited to begin fostering new research collaborations and expanding educational opportunities in additive manufacturing, working closely with Tampere University’s dedicated team to drive forward this rapidly evolving field”, says Sini Metsä-Kortelainen, Senior Ecosystem Lead at FAME Ecosystem.
Finnish Additive Manufacturing Ecosystem (FAME) is an innovative industrial ecosystem that brings together key players in the Finnish additive manufacturing field to increase the role of Additive Manufacturing in Finland.
The ecosystem is funded by the participating companies and Business Finland, and is run by DIMECC Oy.
