“At Sulzer Pumps Finland Oy, additive manufacturing has been gradually utilized to some extent in recent years, but our production still primarily consists of large-scale metal castings. However, additive manufacturing is a rapidly evolving field, so by joining FAME, we can gain knowledge and expertise in the subject for individuals working in various functions within our company,” says Chief Engineer Ivan Baulin from Sulzer Pumps Finland Oy.
“Additive manufacturing brings us new opportunities to manufacture more specialized products or auxiliary tools. It can also be utilized in our service business for the production of spare parts. From a product development perspective, we can gain know-how for the design of the pieces to be printed,” he continues.
Sulzer further strengthens the FAME Ecosystem, demonstrating the growing interest in additive manufacturing across various industries.
“Sulzer strengthens FAME’s applier company pool, which drives the ecosystem and further advances the utilization of AM in industry. As an ecosystem we need to be able to respond to the needs of different OEM companies. In FAME we believe that additive manufacturing can benefit Sulzer to improve their products and services further! As an ecosystem, we are prepared to support along the way,” says Eetu Holstein, FAME Ecosystem Lead.
