The Nordic countries will showcase their expertise in additive manufacturing to an international audience at Formnext 2026 in Frankfurt on 17–20 November. The Nordic Pavilion, organised by the Nordic Additive Manufacturing Alliance, will bring together the leading expertise of Nordic companies and research organisations, highlighting close collaboration and reliable supply chains. Under the flags of Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark, participating organisations include Delva, VTT, Outokumpu, Fieldnode, RISE, DeskArtes and Create it REAL.

Formnext is one of the world’s leading events for additive manufacturing. This year, more than 800 exhibitors and 38,000 visitors from around the world are expected to attend.

The Nordic Additive Manufacturing Alliance will highlight the importance of Nordic collaboration in strengthening industrial competitiveness, security of supply and resilience. Additive manufacturing offers new opportunities to develop production capabilities and supply chains that are better equipped to withstand disruptions in the international operating environment.

In today’s uncertain global environment, it is increasingly important for companies to understand their supply chains, reduce vulnerabilities, identify alternative manufacturing methods and find reliable partners closer to home. Additive manufacturing enables local, on-demand production of components, reduces dependence on long supply chains and can improve both material efficiency and industrial security of supply.

These themes will also be discussed in a panel at Formnext, where representatives from Finland and Denmark will be joined by Vincenzo Belletti, Director of EU Public Affairs at CECIMO, and an industry representative to explore the importance of reliable and resilient supply chains.

“The Nordic countries have world-class expertise in additive manufacturing, but our real strength comes from our ability to bring this expertise together across borders. Formnext gives us an opportunity to show the global industry what the Nordics can achieve together. In addition to technology, we offer reliable partners and more resilient supply chains,” says Eetu Holstein, FAME Ecosystem Lead at DIMECC Ltd.

The Nordic Additive Manufacturing Alliance was established by FAME – Finnish Additive Manufacturing Ecosystem, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, Norwegian Additive Manufacturing Cluster and Danish AM Hub. The alliance brings together Nordic expertise in industry, research and manufacturing. It aims to strengthen international competitiveness, accelerate the adoption of innovations in industrial production, and create new opportunities for collaboration and business across national borders. The alliance is funded by Nordic Innovation.

The Nordic Pavilion is located in Hall 12.0, Stand F101.
